Referred to as "The Great Commission" according to Matthew, Jesus' last command before He ascended to heaven was: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20). Mark's account is similar: "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation..." (Mark 16:15-16). Jesus could have said many, many things in those final moments, which makes the substance and gravity of His words crystal clear. In His final directive He tasked us with proclaiming His identity, His teachings, His death and resurrection to everyone, everywhere. Time is short and many of us are late to do our part, but the matter is increasingly urgent. We can't all go to the ends of the earth, but we can be a part of evangelism efforts by financially supporting those who can. God bless those people. Wear the Word and support those people. Meanwhile, we proclaim Him through our local missions by demonstrating Christ like character and service... And wearing the Word!
