Have you ever lost electricity in the night leaving you in a pitch-dark environment? It sets you immediately on the path to find a candle, matches, a flashlight, some source of light. But the light now safeguards you, illuminating the dangers ahead and showing you the way safely over, around or through obstacles. When the light shines in the darkness, the darkness recedes. Jesus is THE Light. It seems so counter-intuitive, so why do we sometimes try to make our own way without The Light? We have an infinitely reliable, glorious light that works regardless of our effort or ability. Jesus: The Light of the world. In His light, we never again have to navigate that dark, dangerous, uncertain path alone.
