The book of Hebrews is written in polished, elegant Greek, and it's message is, "no turning back now!". The writer works to persuade persecuted Christians, many of whom are Jews recently converted in the faith, that the old covenant is void and that manner of worship is empty. Faith in Jesus is how it’s done now. In compelling language, the author assures that suffering, perseverance, and enduring faith will be rewarded! Fun facts: Hebrews is synonymous to the very Jewish, Old Testament book of Leviticus. Study of Leviticus and Hebrews together brings about a biblical understanding like unlike any other study! Hebrews is also part of trio including Romans and Galatians, which develops and advances a fundamental truth found in the teensy little prophetical book of Habakkuk: “the righteous shall live by faith,” (Hab 2:4). Yet another example of godly New Testament figures expounding upon Old Testament truth. The depth of truth and consistency in God’s Word is awesome!
